Goal 1: By June 2026, 75% of English Learners and students with disabilities will demonstrate at least one year's expected growth, as determined by the projected RIT, from fall to spring on the NWEA MAP Reading Growth Assessment, or pass the Reading SOL test.
- Strategy 1: Tier 2 remediation will take place in all English classes. Professional learning communities (PLCs) will analyze data from chapter question sets and teachers will reteach all students who did not earn a passing grade after each common assessment. Additionally, to address learning gaps in reading, teachers will implement Lexia lessons during class.
- Strategy 2: All instructional staff who teach core classes will participate in 38 hours of Virginia Literacy Act professional development.
Goal 2: By June 2026, 90% of staff will report that they have received support from the School Leadership Support Team (SLST) to address any deficits that were identified in their mid-year student survey results regarding visual and auditory learning strategies, and providing feedback to students.
- Strategy 1: Documentation of coaching cycles that incorporate auditory and visual instructional strategies and student feedback from teachers (held in Perform and Google sheets).
- Strategy 2: Professional Development providing strategies and tools for visual and auditory instructional strategies and providing feedback to students.
- Strategy 3: The SLST team will meet weekly, analyze data, provide professional development and ongoing support to all teachers.
